| The finished composite cylinder includes the following:
- The gas-tight liner made from PET (polyethylene terephthalate),
which is fully wrapped by epoxy resin impregnated fiberglass
to ensure strength. One of the features of such combination
is that the wall is transparent, allowing the users to see
how much gas remains within the cylinder. To install a typical
valve the upper boss is provided that is reliably attached
to the liner.
- The outer case made from HDPE (High Density Polyethylene),
which provides extra protection and easy handling during
transportation, it can be different in color according to
customer's demand.
Cylinders are designed by using special
CAD/CAM systems, and they are technologically optimized at
the very stage of designing. Before being put into large-scale
production, new types of cylinders are repeatedly and comprehensively
tested in the research and development laboratory of KP, and
then they are certified in accordance with international regulations
and standards.
The main structural difference of KP cylinder
from other cylinders is the thin-walled liner. Such cylinder
structure allowed to ensure the following:
- high wall transparency
- minimum weight and production cost
- 150 times higher gas barrier rate rather than traditional
PE (polyethylene) liner that is also porous and absorb gas
pollutions
- corrosion free and free of stored gas contamination rather
than metal cylinders polluting gas by corrosive products
- easy and safe boss-to-liner connection
- perfect strength of fiber glass
COMPOSAFER SMART cylinders employ the most
recent RFID technologies (non-contact Radio Frequency Identification).
Unlike steel cylinders, composite materials are radio transparent
that ensures the use of read/write tags that need no fixed
orientation of a signal receiver or transmitter, make communication
data system and range much more informative, powerful and
effective.
The integrated chip bears copyright information that cannot
be disclosed, and it is used by counterfeited. It keeps KP process/quality control
information or electronic passport during all cylinder life. During cylinder operation
this chip, which is also called high frequency transponder, securely stores and
accumulates information needed for a cylinder owning company.
Gas companies that use COMPOSAFER SMART cylinders
achieve a high level of business competitiveness and efficiency
because they:
- have full, true, hot information about quantity, location,
and condition of the cylinders to improve logistics and
cylinder management system
- increase filling output and accuracy, make this process
fully automatic and integrated into Company Accounting System
to reduce gas processing loss and personnel costs
- offer new value-added services to customers, such us
consumption and invoices history and enlarge the possibilities
of e-commerce.
